Kaija Valdmaa is managing the Estfeed data exchange platform project in Elering, the electricity and gas transmission system operator (TSO) in Estonia. Estfeed main aim is to connect applications and data sources and provide legal access to energy consumption data.

Before Estfeed, from 2014 to 2016 she worked for Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol and PAKRi Science and Industrial Park. There her main aim was to draw together an export oriented green technology sector/cluster, raise funding for business development programmes and present and market the Estonian greentech community globally. Her role was also to collaborate with the public sector and universities to activate research commercialization and technology transfer. She is also Co-Founder and Member of the Board in Cleantech ForEST a cleantech network organisation.

From 2011 to 2014 she worked in Tallinn University of Technology as younger research fellow on topics related with greentech sector analysis and science, technology and innovation policy analysis around green and energy technologies.

Ms Valdmaa is currently finalizing her PhD studies in the area of technology governance with the focus on public policy instruments, science technology and innovation policy and multi-level governance in small countries: environmental policy, green technologies, research funding and smart specialization in Estonia. In addition, she assists Prof. Carlota Perez, a world-known researcher specialized in the social and economic impact of technical change.
