Jan Magne started working in the utility industry in the mid 1980’s, at Norsk Hydro’s energy division, after finishing his Engineer degree. He moved into power wholesales for Hydro when the Norwegian electricity market deregulated in the early 90’s, heading Hydro’s development of market participants’ first bidding- and settlement system supporting the new market model.

In the late 90’s he headed up Hydro’s London office as their energy authority, developing new products and internet solutions for the energy market. In 2005, as part of a merger, he joined the IT vendor Brady Ltd. (previously Navita Systems), which provided leading IT solutions to the utilities worldwide. During this employment, he held several positions mainly in product development and pre-sales.

Jan Magne entered the Elhub-project in October 2013. He is responsible for the functional design of the Norwegian datahub for metered settlement data, market processes, imbalance aggregation and the liaison to the Norwegian regulator NVE.
